The Train Ticket

The train rumbles down the tracks, its smoke filling the sky as its whistle pierces the air.It rushes along, quicker than time itself.

Aboard this Train are many people- going to various destinations for various reasons.

But before these people boarded this Train, they must have first bought a ticket- thus, securing their seats for the journey.

And now, the Train Conductor walks from one passenger to the next, ready to check everyone’s tickets, when he comes to a man.

The Man was on his way to stay with some family whom he hadn’t seen in quite a while.

Now, everyone on this Train knew of the man and all his fame and wealth, believing him to be a very honorable man.

“I’m not sure I know you,” the Conductor says to the man.

The man is baffled.

“I’m sure that's a mistake; for every person on this train knows me!” he exclaims.

The conductor shakes his head sadly.

“I don’t recall your face.” he says.

The man is silent.

“Ticket please,” the Conductor asks, a mysterious twinkle in his kind eyes as he holds out an extended hand.

The man pats his coat pockets jingling with money.

He peers inside his briefcase, where jewels are hidden.

He opens his chest of expensive clothing.

But his ticket is nowhere to be found.

He glances up at the Conductor, shame reddening his face.

“I’m sorry, my Ticket is gone,” he says quietly.

The conductor smiles sadly.

“I don’t remember you.” he whispers.

Just then, a thought occurs to the man.

“But,” he stutters, “but, sir, I don’t know where I’m going!”

His eyes fill with fear as he realizes his fate and he repeats,

“I don’t know where I’m going.”

Do you know where you're going?

Have you secured your seat in Heaven with the Father?

If not, please do so now. Don’t wait until it’s too late.

Jesus is waiting for you with open, welcoming arms.

Go to him.

Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of Man

cometh at an hour when ye think not.
