Shalom Shalom

The Hebrew word Shalom means ‘peace’.

Said twice, it means ‘perfect’ or ‘complete’ Peace.

Peace means:

  1. Freedom from disturbance; tranquility

  2. A time without war or hardship

The Hebrews use this term as a type of Goodbye.

Jehovah-shalom is a term only used once in Judges 6:24 by Gideon.

This means “God is our Peace”.

Is God your Peace?

In this life, the world will do everything it can overwhelm and distract you from God.

But whatever troubles you are facing right now, just know that Jesus never said that anything was going to be easy, but with Him, we have peace.

And his peace is enough.

In his first letter to the Corinthians, Paul said that, ‘God is not the author of confusion, but of peace’.

This means that even if you have no idea what your future looks like, God has a plan and you have a purpose.

And God will give you Peace.

Scripture:

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

John 14:27
