Gather

Gather means to “ bring together and take in from scattered places”.

Think of this:

In my family’s yard, there is a mulberry tree.

And every summer, we would have to go pick up and Gather the berries that had fallen from the tree’s limbs, the berries being scattered from our yard even into the driveway.

This, of course, means we must gather people to Christ.

You never know how far you will go to gather a soul, until you begin.

As Christians, every one of us are called to witness in some way; spreading the news to strangers, neighbors, and yes, even that family member who never seems to go to church.

It can be hard to find where our roles lie in the kingdom of God, I know, but we must pray and seek God’s will.

Scripture:

He that is not with me, is against me; and he that Gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

Matthew 12:30

Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but Gather the wheat into my barn.

Matthew 13:30
